IMG Mediahouse hits home run with Huawei Symantec
Storage specialist works on private cloud with global production house. Mediahouse selected disk-based storage and networked attached storage from the Huawei Symantec Oceanspace series, and a next-generation blade server from the manufacturer’s Tecal range. It’s essential in the broadcast industry that any solution does what it says it can and at a rapid rate. Any downtime or ‘black space’ as it’s known in this industry causes the broadcast to stop completely, which costs a lot of money and naturally shakes client confidence. Huawei Symantec’s excellent track record in the telecoms sector made them a natural fit for an industry that relies on trusted recommendations and due diligence tests carried out at the very highest levels, before it implements a new technology.

In EMEA, much of CBRE’s growth has stemmed from acquisitions. CBRE acquired six companies in the first half of 2008 alone, resulting in a highly distributed infrastructure and consequent management headaches. Riverbed Steelhead® Appliances Improve Employee Productivity by Accelerating File Sharing between Distributed Offices
For Patrick O’Sullivan, Endwave’s Director of IT, connecting his distributed employees with high performance read and write access to shareable data was seemingly impossible. “We have servers located at each site for the local users, but employees outside of the office that need to collaborate over the WAN from those servers suffered from poor performance,” said O’Sullivan. “Employees would start copying a large CAD file from a remote server and impatiently wait for the operation to complete. This was killing employee productivity.”

Top U.S. law firm chooses LifeSize to improve communication, reduce travel
The idea of connecting attorneys via video was not a new idea at Cozen O’Connor. The firm had been looking into the technology for nearly a decade, but due to poor image quality and mostly ISDN connectivity between offices, the idea never really took off. When Joe D’Urso joined the firm as Telecommunications Manager, he assessed the issues and decided it was time to put the negative connotations about video communications to rest and truly find the best video solution on the market. Cozen O’Connor needed a technology solution that could not only reduce travel between offices and keep the growing number of attorneys at each location connected, but also give users a superior quality of experience, as if all parties were sitting in the same room. The ability to share depositions and data between locations was also an important factor, as there are often times when multiple attorneys need to collaborate on the same document in real-time.
